InHouse help launch Innovation Centre
On 17 July, Yorkshire's newest centre of innovation and creativity - the Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre - was formally opened and InHouse ensured that it received the maximum amount of publicity.
InHouse provided PR and event support for the launch which attracted both print and radio coverage.
The launch also featured the unveiling of an art installation by local art group IOU and all attendees received a limited edition gift to celebrate the occasion.
The former Elsie Whiteley Mill was purchased in 2004 by Yorkshire Forward, the Regional Development Agency, on behalf of Calderdale Council with the vision of refurbishing the building into a centre for the development of entrepreneurial and innovative businesses for Calderdale and the surrounding region.
Once home to Halifax's pioneering fashion designer and textile entrepreneur Elsie Whiteley, the £5m investment in the Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre marks not only Halifax's thriving creative past as a leading industrial textile hub, but embraces the region's future as a base where digital and new media companies can develop their businesses.
Halifax's first Innovation Centre will provide over 14,000 sq ft of contemporary, quality serviced office space, designed to meet the needs of forward-thinking and fast-moving businesses operating in global markets.
The centre is funded by Calderdale Council, Action Halifax through European Funding and Yorkshire Forward.
